Shunyata Zitron Alpha Digital Cable question
I have an Oppo disc player that was modded to output DSD via DOP and am planning on using it as a transport feeding to a Bricasti MI DAC.
I have only one Alpha digital cable right now. Which component would benefit the most from the cable...the Oppo or the Bricasti?

I've always believed you protect the source first & then on down. Once you've lost the purity, you can't get it back further down the chain.

Re: Shunyata Zitron Alpha Digital Cable question
Just installed a Oppo DCT 101 to a Forssell MDAC-2 with a Venom Digital to the Oppo and an Alpha Digital to the Forssell. I will try and Alpha Digital on the Oppo later but I don't think it's going to get any better.
Just my opinion

Re: Shunyata Zitron Alpha Digital Cable question
You need to experiment and try it on each component, since the power supply noise of the component used is what is being filtered by the Alpha Digital. For example, when I was using Bryston gear in my two channel I found the improvement from the alpha Digital on the file player was amazing. However, it did not make any difference on the DAC.

Re: Shunyata Zitron Alpha Digital Cable question
I haven't taken delivery of the DAC just yet, but from what I've read it doesn't seem very fussy about power cables.

Re: Shunyata Zitron Alpha Digital Cable question
I had exactly the opposite effect on Bryston BDP-1/BDA-1 with a JPS Labs digital cable. The difference was not subtle. I then contacted JPS Labs to find out what they recommend and they confirmed that the best results would be attained with the digital cable on the DAC. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Shunyata Zitron Alpha Digital Cable question
You make a good point, guess I got a little off track. I still think if you only have one digital cable it belongs on the DAC.
P.S. I am in the middle of changing all my power cables to Shunyata. That's why I was interested in the thread. Based on your experience, maybe I can still get a little improvement from the BDP-1. Shunyata are simply amazing performing cables.
